troubled teen boys ranchTreasure Coast Boys Academy cares for 50 boys ages 13 to 18 at our residential boarding school on a 30-acre parcel surrounded by ranch and orchard country. During our program, we emphasize character, integrity, hard work, and respect. We promote an atmosphere of positive peer pressure. We give boys ownership in work projects and chapel services on campus to keep them engaged in what is their home away from home. We want to see residents grow in their faith in Christ, and we provide worship, chapel services, bible studies, discipleship, retreats and mission trip opportunities toward that end. Boys also challenge and encourage each other in their faith. Would any of that happen in a military school or boot camp? That’s unlikely.

The summit of the program is a spectacular wilderness experience in the mountains of North Carolina during the last month of the boys’ stay. Whitewater rafting, hiking, camping, and other adventures show that life can be both adventuresome and constructive.

The numerous schools throughout the county consolidated into one central school system located in Jackson and the schools desegregated in 1968. In the 1970s, Jackson slowly became a bedroom community. City taxes were also abolished in the 1970s.
